Waht are the heath risks of sewer backups in Central Maryland?

Severe health risks are one commonly overlooked side effects of sewer backups. All sewage contains harmful bacteria, viruses and other contaminants that can cause severe illness and even death to you, your loved ones as well as your pets. Other toxic contaminants such as fungi, pesticides, medication residuals and protozoan are hidden in wastewater as well. Many of these illnesses/diseases can be spread from person to person once you have symptoms. Every year, there are more than 2 million cases of sewage illness reported. Sewage backups are a real concern and need to be handled properly to prevent illness.

EColi - Several different strains causing abdominal cramps, diarrhea and possibly death.

Leptospirosis – causes muscle soreness and vomiting
